mirror surfaces

Since 2019, after Alice settled in Berlin following a long period of travel, she has been transforming photographic subjects into iridescent surfaces by applying layers of ballpoint pen across their entire surface. Several levels of reality play a role here: firstly, the real location or experience of the place as an anchor or memory; secondly, the selection of a photographic motif; thirdly, the drawing process and the immersion in or deep engagement with the chosen motif; and fourthly, the presentation in the exhibition space and its reflection, including the movements of the visitors. All these levels together form the work.
